Lottery Jackpot Ticket Sales Calculator

Introduction

This calculator will estimate the number of tickets sold, number of winners, and probability of at least one winner for any jackpot size for both the Power Ball and MegaMillions. The calculator is based on past sales data. I find there is an exponential relationship between jackpot and ticket sales, up to a point. After jackpots of about half a billion, the relationship become logarithmic.

To use the calculator, enter the jackpot size (in millions). Then click either "Power Ball" or "MegaMillions." The calculator will fill the rest of the fields.
